Frantoio Franci Moraiolo Extra Virgin Olive Oil 250ml
Moraiolo Extra Virgin Olive Oil (250ml) is one of the latest additions to the Cru selection of Frantoio Franci Olive Oils, alongside, Villa Magra, Olivastra Seggianese and Le Trebbiane. It is an intense premium olive oil, produced at 400 metres above sea level around Montenero d'Orcia, in Southern Tuscany. It is ideal on octopus carpaccio, strong tasting fish such as tuna, porcini mushrooms, lentils, beans, chickpeas and vegetable soups in general; on red meats or stews / ragù or tomato or in combination with goat cheese and medium seasoning.
Its aroma is fresh, intense, a pungent herbaceous with rich artichoke and chicory notes, completed by balsamic hints of mint and black pepper. Its taste is ample and complex, with a great intensity of bitter and spicy notes. The herbaceous aftertaste of artichoke, chicory and almond dominates a complexity of vegetable hints and a long persistence of smooth aromatic notes.
It is produced by Frantoio Franci, one of Italy’s most renowned olive oil producers. The farm, based near Montalcino in Montenero d’Orcia is currently managed by Giorgio Franci, having taken over from his father Fernando. The mill quickly became famous through its flagship Villa Magra Grand Cru, which has long been regarded as the pioneer on the segment of olive oils of the highest quality.
