High polyphenol olive oils
Understanding Polyphenols
Polyphenols are bioactive substances renowned for their antioxidant properties. In high-polyphenol EVOO, these compounds have been linked to supporting heart health, reducing inflammation, and offering neuro-protective effects. Not all EVOOs are created equal; studies suggest that higher polyphenol content may lead to better health outcomes.
Understanding polyphenol levels
High polyphenol extra virgin olive oils are not all equal. At the Artisan Olive Oil Company, every oil in this range has been independently laboratory tested and achieves a polyphenol content of at least 400 mg/kg — well above the EU health claim threshold of 250 mg/kg. Several of our oils exceed 700 mg/kg, placing them among the most antioxidant-rich olive oils available to buy online in the UK. All oils in this range are: cold-extracted, produced from an early harvest in the season to maximise polyphenol content, from award-winning producers with independent quality certification, and available with UK delivery from our warehouse near London.
