Key Facts
Description
From the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) region of Trás-os-Montes in northern Portugal, Acushla Green Portuguese PDO Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is crafted from a blend of native Portuguese olive varieties: Cobrançosa, Madural, Verdeal and Cordovil. Produced at Quinta do Prado in Vila Flor, this elegant extra virgin olive oil reflects the purity, heritage and authenticity of one of Portugal’s most respected olive-growing regions.
Presented in Acushla’s signature deep green bottle, this organic extra virgin olive oil is designed to preserve freshness, flavour and naturally occurring antioxidants by protecting the oil from light exposure. Combining premium quality with contemporary Portuguese design, Acushla Green is both visually striking and exceptionally versatile.
Cold extracted in two phases from olives harvested during October and November, this Portuguese PDO organic extra virgin olive oil offers medium fruitiness with aromas of fresh grass, green olive leaf, floral notes and green almond husk. The palate is beautifully balanced, with gentle bitterness and a smooth peppery finish that reflects the freshness and quality of the harvest.
Laboratory analysis confirms its outstanding freshness and quality, with very low free acidity of just 0.11% and total polyphenols measured at 406 mg/kg. The olive oil was officially classified as Extra Virgin by the recognised laboratory of the International Olive Council at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia in Lisbon.
Acushla — meaning “beat of my heart” in Irish — is a family project rooted in passion, sustainability and a deep connection to nature. Quinta do Prado is one of the largest organic olive-growing estates in the Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro region and was the first olive oil producer in Portugal to achieve FSSC 22000 certification for olive oil production and packaging.
