Description

From the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) region of Trás-os-Montes in northern Portugal, Acushla Origin Portuguese PDO Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is crafted from a blend of native Portuguese olive varieties: Cobrançosa, Madural, Verdeal and Cordovil. Produced at Quinta do Prado in Vila Flor, this beautifully balanced medium fruity olive oil reflects the richness, heritage and authenticity of one of Portugal’s most celebrated olive-growing regions.

Presented in a stylish and practical 500ml tin, Acushla Origin combines exceptional quality with contemporary Portuguese design. The tin packaging protects the olive oil from light and oxidation, helping to preserve its freshness, aromas and naturally high polyphenol content for longer.

Cold extracted in two phases from carefully selected olives harvested in October and November, this Portuguese PDO organic extra virgin olive oil delivers medium fruitiness with aromas of fresh grass, green olive leaf, floral notes and green almond husk. On the palate it is elegant and harmonious, with gentle bitterness and a lingering peppery finish characteristic of fresh, high-quality olive oil.

Laboratory analysis confirms its outstanding freshness and quality, with very low free acidity of just 0.11% and total polyphenols measured at 406 mg/kg. The olive oil was officially classified as Extra Virgin by the recognised laboratory of the International Olive Council at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia in Lisbon.

Acushla — meaning “beat of my heart” in Irish — is a family project rooted in passion, sustainability and a deep connection to nature. Quinta do Prado is one of the largest organic olive-growing estates in the Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro region and was the first olive oil producer in Portugal to achieve FSSC 22000 certification for olive oil production and packaging.
